Last week demolition crews brought down a 178 foot tall water tower during a controlled demolition project in Plano, Texas, just off the Dallas North Tollway.

One of 11 water towers in the city, it was built in 1985, but has sat dormant for the past 5 years. Demolition crews are salvaging the tower by cutting up and selling the 550 tons of scrap steel.

In its place will sprout Legacy West, a new development to include residences, shops, restaurants, and a hotel.
